Pennard House Wedding Filmmaker
Somerset Wedding Filmmaker at Pennard House
Max & Kate // Wedding Film
As a Somerset wedding filmmaker, I have the absolute pleasure of capturing some truly special moments in this beautiful part of the country. And last year, I had the honour of filming Kate and Max's stunning wedding day at the idyllic Pennard House in Somerset. Their story is one that truly resonated with me, filled with love, resilience, and a deep appreciation for family.
Let me tell you a little bit about this wonderful couple! Kate and Max, who call the bustling city of Battersea in London home, have strong ties to the South West. Kate is a Somerset native, while Max, though raised in Richmond, has Spanish heritage thanks to his dad. Both are incredibly dedicated individuals working on the front lines of healthcare – Max as an Oncology doctor at The Royal Marsden, and Kate as an Intensive Care nurse at Charing Cross Hospital. Their shared love for weekend escapes to the countryside and staying active speaks volumes about their appreciation for balance and well-being. Above all, family is clearly at the heart of everything they do.
Their "how we met" story is a testament to modern romance! Despite working in the same field, their paths crossed on the dating app 'Hinge' in January 2021. Their initial dates were classic pandemic-era affairs: coffee and walks outdoors. A shared love for Italian food blossomed after their first date at a charming Italian restaurant near Putney, a culinary theme they thoughtfully incorporated into their wedding breakfast.
The proposal sounds absolutely perfect! During a weekend getaway to Somerset, a trip they had planned together, Max completely surprised Kate. He got down on one knee during a picturesque countryside walk near Kate's hometown – how romantic! Their celebratory weekend at the luxurious Babington House sounds like the perfect way to begin their engagement journey.
Their choice of Pennard House in Somerset as their wedding venue was deeply meaningful. Situated close to their engagement spot in Bruton, the venue immediately captured their hearts. They described it as "not too commercial" and possessing a wonderfully "homely" feel, which perfectly aligned with their vision for their special day.
What truly struck me about Kate and Max was their openheartedness about the unique emotional landscape of their wedding day. They poignantly shared that the absence of Kate's mother, who they lost suddenly two and a half years ago, and Max's father, who passed away seven years prior, would undoubtedly be felt. While their day was intended to be filled with joy, they acknowledged the underlying sadness of these significant losses. This raw honesty speaks volumes about their strength and the importance of family in their lives.
Ultimately, Kate and Max's wish for their guests was simple yet profound: "The happiest, most enjoyable day possible! And stress free!!" It was clear throughout the planning and on the day itself that their priority was creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone celebrating with them.
Being a Somerset wedding Filmmaker, capturing the genuine emotions and heartfelt moments of a day like Kate and Max's at Pennard House in Somerset is truly what makes my job so rewarding. Their love story, their connection to the region, and their focus on creating a joyful experience for their loved ones made their wedding day an absolute pleasure to film. I wish Kate and Max a lifetime of happiness together!
